I'd much prefer a guy looking at me with his cheap binos rather than looking at me through his $1000 scope! :twocents:

I really appreciate the recommendation of our ZRS HD binoculars.  I would recommend this model as well. What really sets this apart from other sub $300 binoculars is that ZRS HD has Magnesium alloy chassis, which is 10x stronger than plastic body, yet light weight.  It also has dielectric prism coating, which allows only 1% light loss through prism, vs silver or aluminum prism coating on other binoculars that caused 10-15% light loss.

To appreciate the support of Hunting-WA member, I will offer 10% discount to all Hunt-WA members between now through August 10th.  This can be combined with existing discount available on our website: http://www.zen-ray.com.  To claim the discount, you need to PM me your order number. I will send you discount in the form of refund within 24 hrs of receiving your PM.  Please note, this offer is only applicable to orders placed on www.zen-ray.com.

Let me know if you have any questions.

How far do you plan on looking? IMO NOTHING beats quality glass... That said i currently have a cheep set of 10x50

Quality crystal may beat quality glass.   :chuckle:

If you buy quality glass / crystal you won't get the headaches some of the cheap binos can cause if you use them for a long period of time.

Everyone toughts  THERE glass, the only real test is to put them up to a resolution board one pair next to each other. For though's not in the know a resolution board is a board, most of the time a 4x8 sheet of plywood painted white with black line of large to small black lines painted on it in groups. Then placed at ever increasing distances and evaluating how many line one can see before they mush together. In most cases the more $$ spent the better the resolution of the glass. But there is a point where to get more resolution the cost jump a whole bunch. Also the better glass has less distortion at the edges of the viewing area.

Check out the red field 10x42 rebels. Can't beat them for $150.00 with warranty. Some people like us can't afford 2-3000$ so I make due. But they are the best pair of cheap binos for he price. Just my  :twocents:

If one cannot either afford or chooses not to spend big bucks on high end stuff...Swaro etc., then Zen-Ray is a good option for most normal hunting applications.

I might suggest that to find what your looking for, don't ask other's opinion. Go to store's that have them whatever them is, and try them out yourself. You might be surprised to find to find that much less expensive will suit you just fine. I have a very old set of Bushnell's, 8x40, that work ok but just ok. I got them from a guy I knew very well that passed on. I also got a set of Tasco binocular's while in Germany in the late 60's. They didn't look like much but they were really nice looking through them. This is where someone say's, yea, but have you ever looked through "X" brand? No I have not. Which probably means I don't know what I'm missing or the junk works well enough for me. The worth of binoculars is going to be in direct comparison to what works well for you. Wish i still had that set of Tasco's and no I would not go buy another pair today!

I have found that I never sit on a rock with binoculars glued to my eye's looking for any game within 10 mi. If I did I suspect eye strain might become a problem. I don't personally know anybody that does do that. I do understand a lot of people talk about it though. I suspect that doing that might be similar to driving and never looking anywhere except to the front of your vehicle. Do it long enough and you will develop tunnel vision until you start glancing around, you inhibit your peripheral vision. it's about like any other gear, there are people that simply can't afford them and other's that don't care what anything cost and never have used the product they think is junk. Go look at them yourself and decide what you really need. Who helped you pick your wife? You might ask that guy what's best for you!

I bring a pad to sit on, but yes - I may sit there for hours glassing. Ten miles is a stretch.

Is that 10 miles? I thought it was 10 minutes. :chuckle:

I will sit for hours as well, but yes 10 miles is a bit much!

Now that you mention it, ...:dunno:

I thought he meant miles. Ten minutes is nothing for glassing.
