Has anybody been pheasant hunting around Williston, North Dakota? My cousin just moved there for work and we want to go pheasant hunting there. Any advice?

I don't see as many that far north as I do down south. I would hunt south of I94 if I had the choice

Go!  NoDak has birds and access.  Lots of PLOTS (private lands open to sportsman) land available to hunt.

Regent has thousands.  Or at least it seemed that way a couple of years back.

It is nice to go to a place (North Dakota/South Dakota) that actually cares about pheasant hunters. As someone pointed out, the PLOTS maps for North Dakota are great. We normally hunt N. of 94 to avoid the Mott/Regent crowds (+a lot of the land down there is leased) and have done well on sharptails and pheasant. Also, we were able to get access to hunting a few places by knocking on the door and asking.

Give yourself 1-2 years, go and pick up a Plots book, find some spots and go door knocking we hunt Elgin/Carson area every year. Theirs 7/8 of us, and we limit 'Quick". But we have some awesome farms to hunt. One we could seriously walk for 4 days if we wanted. The people in N Dakota are nice and will let you hunt, most will anyways.
Is it waterfowl season yet..............

I was just in North Dakota little over a month ago. We saw about 30 birds from our exit on I94 to New Rockford (its near Devils Lake). There were birds everywhere. we saw a few coyotes too. The farmers I talked with were more than happy to let you go shoot some birds.. Next time I go back I'll make it a point to go in Pheasant season.
