Looking to drive to Alaska
« on: July 27, 2013, 06:58:18 PM »
Thinking about driving to Alaska in October, buddy is getting married up there. Random question but has anyone ever heard of anyone needing cars transported up there? I dont really have a long distance car and would rather not pay to rent one. Just wondering if there are any websites or services with people needing their vehicles driven up to AK. Seems like it could save some money if I could do it that way

Any chance you could find a vehicle that is in demand in AK, buy it here and sell it there?  I seem to remember diesels that could be plugged in overnight were sought after inland.

Yep. It's much cheaper when you're doing their A - B thing where they redistribute their fleet.

U-Haul has something similar.  If you move a truck/trailer for them from a rarely used area to a high demand area, you can get some really good deals.
