Mini-Bass Boat. Should I?
« on: July 27, 2013, 05:07:38 PM »
Found someone selling this little guy for $125 and he told me he would take 100$ for it. Its an 8 footer.
Should I snatch it up for some small pond/lake fishing? Ive been wanting something small enough for me and maybe one other person that would be easily transportable and small enough to take about anywhere..
Sounds like a good deal.

Anyone else out there have one of these or ever been in one? All the review's say they're great boat's and hold quite a bit of weight.

Not worried about tons of room right now, as long as there's room for my butt, a cooler, and my gear Im good to go  Just want something to get me away from shore.

Do it!

On the plus side it should fit right in the trunk of the boat you drive daily.  :chuckle:

Can't go wrong for $100, however, I had a similar one and if you wish to attach anything to it you are dealing with plastic! You, you're gear (hopefully nowhere near the amount I'm addicted too) and a cooler and that thing is full!! I put mine in the water once and sold it, went with a 12' Alumacraft and modified it to my likings.

Also, I don't see the special seats that go with that particular boat or oars? Those items could easily turn it into a $300 purchase.  :twocents:

I have seats, oars, a moter, anchor, everything needed. Just need a few piece's of wood to act as runners for seats and Im good to go. I found the aluminum seat tracks for the boat but theyre $40 a piece. Im handy enough to where I can come up with something. Just need something that floats first

Welcome to Things That Float Anonymous!  You already got it didn't you!  I guess it depends on where you want to use it.  For example: You might need a couple that size to keep out at the lakes in the pastures and an aluminum one or two to hall around to the pothole lakes, but those canoes are a blast too and that way the kids can do their own thing.  And don't forget about the belly boats- there is nothing better than being out fly fishing in one of those at sunrise.  But what about skiing and fishing bigger water?  Well, then you need a ski boat and everyone knows you can't fish out of a Mastercraft so you will need a real fishing boat also.  I'm not admitting to anything here- just sayin'.  Maybe I need to go to some meetings :dunno:
Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and screaming, "WOO HOO! WHAT A RIDE!!"

OR
Maybe we could hang out, and do some fishing :chuckle:
a full size 14-20 foot bayliner style is next on our list, saltwater fishing and crabbing etc. Just hanging out on the wate, would be a blast... We just love the outdoors. I havent picked it up YET, but tomorrow. I am! If I dont like it, HW will be the first place I post it up for sale.

Break Out Another Thousand? haha. We had good times in our canoe, Its still sitting in the yard, Just to big and too awkward to try and load and unload. Plus we have a new truck and don't want to mess up the roof. Then the Jon boat still needs some minor repairs. I just want something small, besides my fishing tube/waders/and flippers!

Yep that's just what I said   :chuckle: Now I have a 15, 17, and a 19 foot boat. It all started with a home made duck boat.. And now this,, even after we stop commercial salmon fishing, I swore I would NEVER own another boat  :bash:  :bash:

The best two days of owning a boat are the day you buy it and the day you sell it.  Can't go wrong for $100 though.

I actually think you are going to have a great time with your boat and use it a lot.  Don't forget to post some pics along the way.

Why would you want to catch "mini-bass"?  You should get a boat from which you can catch the big ones....   :chuckle:

Looks like an old Coleman Crawdad.  Great little boats.  The Break Out Another Thousand only is valid for boats under 35', anything over and it becomes Break Out Another Ten Thousand!
