I had one of my best hunting years ever last year and I did not notch a tag...
That bull in your avatar is simply amazing, that has to be your best year!!

I put a friend on 6x7 last season with a quality tag he put in for years. He shot an inch under its vitals @ 50 yards. That's hunting, and as said before there are no guarantees.

I'd like to see pics of any bull. People understand with a tag like that, you hold out for a while in hopes of real masher but sometimes you end up shooting whatever bull presents a shot to notch your tag. I would have no shame hanging a quality tag on a spike if I hunted hard for the season and it came down to that.

Had one of my best friends filled his quality elk tag it would've been my best year. As it were it was just a year that I got extremely lucky :)

:dunno: Does anyone obey a hunters code of conduct ??  My #1 rule as an avid hunter is this ..When you find a good hunting spot YOU NEVER TELL ANYONE ...I want everyone to kill at least one big bull in their life but my back yard has been posted all over the internet and it starting to seriously tick a lot of people off ... :dunno: :sry: Nice bull by the way ...maybe since the state has sooooo many rules they can add this one ...Hunters who live in areas where there are elk can only apply for permits that live within a 50 mile radius of that particular unit ... hahahahahahaha This should get good ..... ;)

I agree, there a lot of nice bulls in the Sack,  but ive yet to see any real jaw droppers in there.  A lot of guys think it's a slam dunk since you can see the elk from the highway, but it isn't.

That being said, I hope I draw that tag this year   :chuckle:

:chuckle: I saw one that would make you drop your jaw. Makes a 340 look like a raghorn. Gar-un-teeed. But, ya. No big bulls in the sack.   >:(
