Owned several Leupold, neither of which would read to the advertised range. My Leica actually reads farther then advertised.

. Hmmm was thinking of getting a 1000 yard Leupold but might have to use some Candelas points to pay the difference for a Leica 1600.

You would not regret that decision. The difference between the Leicas and the Leupolds is significant.

I don't like how the vortex doesn't have a crosshair or any type of aiming system, that is until you have already ranged something. I also thought the red digits were hard to see against light colored backgrounds. I liked the bushnell, just worry about its durability. I just can't afford a Leica right now, wish I could.

when I used it it wouldn't appear until after I had ranged something. Then it would go away again. Maybe it's some kind of adjustable thing? I ended up getting the bushnell 1300 the other day. I know bushnell is shunned by some people but I liked it and think it will fit my needs well

Whatever works for you man! I have one of the oldest style rangefinders in existance.. lol Also a bushnell, Its a golf rangefinder


A fellow member on here passed it down to me for free, It was an awesome gesture on his behalf. Its helped me range in my bow and I've got alot of use out of it.

Im not sure about his prices. Yes I shoot there every once in a while, usually to go through the walkthrough. I have a membership to upper nisqually in eatonville so I usually use their flat range. For daily practice I use my back yard.

Have you ever shot their walkthrough? Its really fun, 65 targets I think? But bring a good arrow puller, you shoot an arrow into one of those cedar bails without one and you might not get it back!

Na haven't done any shooting there, Do you just sign in at the desk... Then where does the range start?

Cirtain times on weekdays you sign in at the office, if thats closed Im not sure what members do, Im not a member so Ive always just put my $7 in the envelope at the range. The walkthrough is just to the right of the flat range, you cant miss it, you go under a big wooden arch.

Vortex ranger 1000.  Awesome in lowlight conditions and can be adjusted to match mid day conditions as well.  Best bang for the buck for sure!  Compare and ranger and a Swarovski side by side and you'll barely see a difference.  LED reticles are where it's at!!  Also can be adjust to give you m/ft., straight line distance or horizontal (what you'd use for bullet/arrow trajectory), and it's small, light, and rugged!
