But now, Obama wants the medical profession (via the CDC) to put gun violence under the microscope and find a way to see it as a health problem so that it guns themselves become the real enemy. Just saying guns are the enemy isn’t a convincing argument, but if you can somehow move guns into the realm of public health, then there may be something that the left can really work with to overturn the 2nd Amendment. This past June, a preliminary report was issued that essentially pointed out that by emphasizing the public health problems related with guns, effective solutions could be realized. What might those effective solutions be? Nicholas Johnson again offers his opinion here by stating, “A total handgun eradication program might be useful toward this end…”
My prediction is that by 2015 guns will be illegal in this country. It would not surprise if our current government is cooking some kind of disaster and unleash it to the public and then turn around and declare Marshall Law thus giving them authority to confiscate firearms. Just look at the Boston marathon bombing. The government knew about the brothers, they interviewed them, the Russians warned the FBI and still they let it happen.
He doesn't have enough time left to effectively go after guns now. The only way he could do anything is if he gets control of both the house and senate.

But I do think he will try to set the stage for his successor if the republican party doesn't pull their head out of you know where and put a legitamite candidate up.
