Normally I would cut the legs and turn it into a back pack, but since she had her packframe.. :dunno:
I would rather pack then drag.

Maybe you could elaborate a little on this(backpack) technique.(?)

My wife loves this time of year (not!), I butchered my sons deer in the kitchen on tues and made my first batch of Teriyaki deer jerky  :drool: Man did it turn out good. I bet yours will be great eating too Good Job!

I will have to try and remember to take pics next time.
Basically you cut through the joint on the front knees but not through the tendon. Cut down between the tendon and the leg bone about 3 inches. Then slice a hole between the tendon and hams on the the hind quarters that is just big enough to put the hooves and lower leg through. Pull through until you and the disjointed knee through and then lock it in like a "T".





It is a great way to pack with out a board. You can get leverage from the hind legs by pushing down on them and it will push the deer up your back.

It can be messy (with blood soaking through to your skin all the way to your toes) but you can help with that by packing a good garbage bag and cutting head and arm holes and wearing it like a poncho.
