I got a large cow elk into the back of an isuzu trooper, legs and all! I could see it lay it on its back and have the neck curled in towards the chest!

I have the Washington state record for black bear and is only listed in the new Boone and Crockett book. My name is Lars Swartling and the score is 21 12/16. It came from Mica peak in the spokane valley.

Big bear for sure. If I remember right it was not shot to far out of town.

He's got some Competition on the State record. A Colville Valley women shot a 550 + lb. black bear in Oct. 2008 in Stevens County. She was on stand when her husband was making a deer drive to her and this bear came running out at her. The story was in the Chewelah paper. I also heard about it when I was over deer hunting. I don't know if it was in anyother paper.
