Its a fun gun to shoot. Drew a cow tag this year so I am going to use it for that. Recoil is very mild but the blast is extreme. Will have to wear eyes and ears on this hunt. Factory ammo is outrageous and ranges from 32.00 for Hornady 200gr and goes to 72.00 for the Winchester supreams. With that being said, I bought dies and reload for it. I am now looking for a way to carry it. Have not found a good holster, if you want to call it a holster.

I don't know about the 14" tube for carrying but imagine you will need to come up with a sling system. An across the chest holster carries the 8 3/8" well but doubt the 14" would be comfortable in it. I have seen slings on the 10.5" that seem to work. The 8 3/8" was great and really mild to shot with full loads (using the compensator) and was comfortable standing or rested. Took 2 deer with it in 2 shots so you could say I liked it.

We had som video shooting at night that started with 2 .45 Colt loads followed by the full power load. Two little flashes and then a flame thrower. It was pretty impressive.

Worst recoil ever was a uncompensated 2.5" barreled .500 S&W.  Shooting 440grn heavy loads peeled the skin off the web of my palm with the sticky Hogue grip.

Looking for a way to carry it? How about putting wheels and a hitch on it. :chuckle: Looks pretty good for a long range big bore. I think you just coined a new phrase from hog leg to moose leg. :chuckle:

Put a sling swivel on it and use a single point tac sling. Its about the same size as my AK pistol. And thats what I use.

You may also want to consider using a backpack designed for carrying a rifle or bow. That's how I carry my bolt action pistols while hunting. When you think about it, you're never going to "snap shoot" with the gun so you don't need a quick draw holster.

The 460 is fun round but the muzzle blast is in a class of it's own! I sold my 460 and got a 45-70 revolver to replace it. The 460 wins with the light and fast bullets, but the 45-70 won with the heavy (400+ grain) bullets that I prefer. I may still have some 200gr FTX bullets left over if you would be interested. I'll see if I can find them.

I am starting to lean in that direction. I looked at a single point sling yesterday and decided that I didnt want the gun pointing at my head while I would be walking around...lol. The way its balanced took care of a sling idea. Guess I will have to throw it in my pack until I spot some elk and move in.

I use a bandolier style with my 500 S&W and my 460 T/C Encore. They both have over 12" barrels and keep it under my coat or jacket until I need to draw it. I've seen a few models out there large enough for your gun.

Crap the deer are just going to fall down and die when you pull that hunk of pain out. , rather than get shot by it.
