Pushed timber in an area near forks yesterday. I have seen a bunch of bears in there this summer. No bears but had 4 cows and 2 calf elk walk within 10 yards before they realized I didn't belong. Hitting one of my favorite cuts this evening after work.

Went out early this morning. No bear, but saw a bunch of turkey vultures and 2 coyotes. Hit one and missed one (my first time shooting a yote). My cams have 3-4 bears in the area, but not a whole lot of new sign from them. Berries in my area aren't ripe yet, but they should be soon.

Doesn't the old wise man say where there are grouse there are bear?

Itching to get out and no sitter so I loaded up my son and found a lot of clear cuts.  Just no bear.  I think my son will get the hang of it in no time.

Hunted all weekend with no luck. I know its still early in the season but I haven't seen any fresh sign at all, going to hit a different spot this coming weekend.Black Berries  are getn closer to being ripe in my first couple spots but I have always seen atleast sign in both spots. Oh well next spot!

Well....went for a walk with bknilvr00 yesterday. We covered some ground and heard the occasion ruckus that probably wasn't a bear but was good enough to get our interest. Didn't see a lot of fresh sign...some old scat that was probably bear, some fresh scat that was yote. It looked like in the open areas some of the blackberrys were getting ripe which could be promising in the next few weeks. We are heading back out this evening for a hunt in a different area. I'm going to hang a cam for kicks and giggles.
