It was a great day on the water with Skillet and the family. I will post up some pics tomorrow, too tired right now. I'll be in bed shortly.

I'll probably never drag a pink squid around again after the way we slaughtered the humpies on coho gear today...
Thanks to the skipper and his fam for letting me tag along - learned a lot today.

Word. Same story for us today - 2 limits - 7 pinks, 1 silver. All with Coho set ups....

Pinks are ridiculously easy out there still.  There are still a few that are bright with loose scales but most have started to hump, color up and put on extra slime.

I noticed that too.  Probably canned my last batch of pinks on Sunday, unless a fresh bunch of fish pushes in.

Why do you can them?  Is there an advantage over vac sealing?

A little bit of "prepper" in me, I guess.  It'll keep in a pantry without electricity for a long time.   I just like canned fish, too.  Probably ate more canned kokanee than tuna growing up.  I got plenty of walleye and ling cod vacuum sealed and frozen, too.

I canned a bunch this year in brine like if you were gonna smoke them. Makes a great snack and good sandwiches.

We fished tween Picnic Pt & Shipwreck yesterday evening. Not 5 minutes with lines wet wet had a big take down. Good fight, but had to released a nice 12# native king  :bash:
Next fish was about 40 min later a nice 6# Coho buck at 115'.
Last fish hit hard about 7pm. A solid 10# coho hen. Was a good nite  :IBCOOL:
Water was a bit choppy on the ride out from Everett to Mukilteo ferry then the water was glass  8)

Five coho in the boat today. Three were 9 pounders.

Nice. I’m loading the boat right now for trip out in the am; I’d be happy with few 9 pounders.
