If you get one down anywhere within an hour of Lake Stevens shoot me a pm......if I can make it out I'd be happy to help.
Add me as well, i can jump in with H2o or anyone else close by that is called upon, they have my contact info..
To hunt and butcher an animal is to recognize that meat is not some abstract form of protein that springs into existence tightly wrapped in cellophane and styrofoam.

Over the past few years, we have had a few guys seek help locating a wounded/downed bear.

Don't be afraid to ask for help if needed.

Don't wait too long asking for help!

Have someone post a thread for you seeking helpers! Lot's of guys here willing to help!

Good luck guys!

I would like to add to this. Don't be afraid of getting grief from people on here. I know there is a lot of arm chair quarterbacking but recovering your animal is more important than someones opinion. I know a lot of stuff goes unposted on here for this very reason.

sent from my typewriter

Screw their Arm Chair quarterbacking, your out there doing it and chances are their fat hindend's have only made it to the next episode of the Kardashians while  Googling "Bear shot placement".  DON'T BE AFFRAID OR DERAILED FROM ASKING!  Again, good luck.

Add me to the list.  If you are within an hour of Everett/Lake Stevens, I can get on the road to you pretty quickly.  My pack is all set up and ready to go, I have knives sharpened, and I'm cheap labor!

Side note -

What would you guys and gals think of setting up a Hunt-WA phone tree?

For those unfamiliar, here's how it works.  First, we split the state up into manageable chunks, say 4 to 6 areas.  Then, anyone who lives in those areas and is willing to help with this sort of thing puts their name in for that area.  If you live bordering 2 areas, put in for both if you are willing to help out in both.  Then, each area is assigned 2 Hunt-wa members that anyone can contact via phone.  When John Q HuntWaMember shoots an animal, and finds they are having trouble recovering said animal, they call the 2 guys who are assigned to the area they are hunting.  Those 2 guys each call 2 more guys who are on the list for that area, those 4 each call 2, and so on.  It's a quick way to mobilize a lot of help, and a whole lot more proactive than posting up a thread or sending a pm and waiting for someone to notice.

Thoughts?
“If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that ye were our countrymen.”

Great idea, Fishstiq.    Good way to organize things. Count me in. I know some on here are set up with their trees, but others are not.  I want to participate and can be more useful on the weekends.

If any of you guys are willing to take a rookie out let me know. I can take you yote hunting in return. I'll call them in and you can do the shooting. Anywhere from Cle Elum to Mt. Baker works for me.
