Puyallup river pinks limit

The way I'm reading the regs it seems like you can keep 4 pinks this is that right?
If it flies, it dies.

Looks that way to me. You can keep 2  adult kings or silvers plus 2 pinks. so 4 total on that river.

But can you keep just 4 pinks?
If it flies, it dies.

YES! 4 pinks/4 salmon total. If there is a mixed bag of 4 salmon 2 of which must be pinks.

Now I'm confused....From WDFW

"In all areas, anglers will have a daily limit of six salmon (minimum size 12 inches). Anglers may keep up to four adult salmon, of which only two may be any combination of chinook, coho and chum. All wild adult chinook salmon must be released."
Where does the six factor in?

You can kill jacks.  Only 4 of the 6 can be adults.

Ok thanks, wasnt thinking about jacks. Typical WDFW, why cant they just say that.  :bash:
On another note, I didnt see anything about barbless hooks except for the area between the White & Carbon rivers.  Nothing in the news release and of course in the regs it has nothing but the TBD on the season.
So barbs are ok downstream of the White?

Here is the quote from the WDFW update page, hopefully this helps:

Quote
11th Street Bridge to city of Puyallup outfall structure near junction of Freeman Road and North Levee Road: Night closure and anti-snagging rule are in effect and single point barbless hooks are required from August 16 until further notice. Salmon and gamefish season is open August 16 until further notice, except closed on September 1, 2, 8, 9, 10, 15, 16, 17, 22, 23, 24, 25, 29, and 30. Trout minimum length is 14 inches. Salmon daily limit is 6 fish. No more than 4 may be adults, and of the 4 adults, only 2 may be any combination of chinook, coho, and chum. Release wild adult chinook.

https://fortress.wa.gov/dfw/erules/efishrules/erule.jsp?id=1336

Regs clearly say that "night closure, anti-snagging rule, and barbless hooks required"

Yes, I saw that,  that covers the area between 11th St to Freeman rd from Aug 16th and on, so now (Aug 1st) between Freemon Rd to the White River  barbs are ok? I have seen nothing to the contrary. :dunno:  :bash:

Barbs are never okay, it's saying that area in general isn't even open until August 16th, and the area of the Pew river that IS open says: "From city of Puyallup outfall structure near junction of Freeman Road and North Levee Road to mouth of the White River: Night closure and anti-snagging rule are in effect and single point barbless hooks are required from August 1 until further notice."

I would call the fish and game to clarify. I will say this, as hard as the GW hit the Puke you wont see me with a barbed hook any time of the year. IMO if you aren't sure, pinch your barb.

Just got off the phone & the recording says single barbless for the area in question. Why wasnt it in the news release  :bash: :bash:
Always use barbless none the less, it just wasnt adding up, thats why I was confused. (which doesnt take much sometimes)
