« on: August 07, 2013, 12:28:52 PM »
OK, I NEED GROUSE HONEY HOLES IN THE BLUES.

P.M. ME WITH YOUR FAVOTITE PLACE TO HUNT FOR GROUSE UP THERE. I NEED GOOD SPOTS WHERE I AM GARENTEED SOME BIRDS.
I APPRECIATE THE HELP.

I JUST DON'T WANT TO GO OUT AND SCOUT.

seriously though. I might be out in the blues a bit. and I have no experience what so ever with grouse.  what type of places should I be looking for them at?
is there any grouse in the blues? what type of elevations?  I will mostly around Tuccannon area.

Lots of the old logging roads up there have been gated any of those are good. I have been seeing them at all elevations. I will pm my number if you want to call and I can give specific directions

Look around water sources.  I see a lot of blue grouse early in the mornings on the edges of the ridge top meadows.

Buy an English Setter.   8)

Great idea! :chuckle:

Find grouse cover with a food source and water near by and you will find grouse... eventually.

If you see 1 or more while driving the roads get out and hunt the surrounding area. It can be a good indicator that there are birds in the area.

I've shot a  ruff grouse or two in the tuccannon in wheat stubble of all things. Can't remember the name of the road but it was up against the  timbered hills off of the Hartsock.

And yeah you need an english setter. :chuckle:
