When I was a kid (and I'm not THAT old) everyone just counted main beam points. I think when they started managing bucks by point minimums it changed everything...I still refer to a buck with 3 on the main beam as a 3 point, but when I get a funny look I will reluctantly add "3-with-an-eyeguard"...
