Interesting, I wonder how it groups?
Think it would be any good for smallgame bryan?
i dont think it would be a forgiving setup. small axle to axle + short brace hieght = bad news.
Quote from: bearpaw on August 09, 2013, 03:38:05 PMInteresting, I wonder how it groups?Did you notice how Myles is gripping the bow? Death grip!! In my experience with it that's the best way to shoot it. I think that's why I never got real good groups out of it. My east coast friend that hunts with it shoots pretty good on the range. But, he does admit under hunting situations he has a tendency to throw shots left and right. I think he has taken a couple dozen deer with it over the years...and a few hogs.Quote from: Smossy on August 09, 2013, 03:46:57 PMThink it would be any good for smallgame bryan? It is a complete big game type of hunting bow. So not simply a lightweight small game tool. Myself hitting small game is more difficult than big game. So I'd rather shoot a more consistent bow for small game. Would be a dang expensive setup just to play around shooting small game with. But it is fun to shoot! I always enjoy something a little different.Quote from: spotnstalkmuleys on August 09, 2013, 03:54:47 PMi dont think it would be a forgiving setup. small axle to axle + short brace hieght = bad news.It does have a 7" brace height and parallel limbs. Holds quite stable. I just could not get a decent follow-thru. The grip is really funky and the reaction of the bow does take some getting use to. I'm sure with enough practice someone could shoot it quite well. Then again you have to ask yourself...Why?Btw - That "Myles" comment is an inside joke. I'm sure mountainman would love to flip me crap about a lack of accuracy in any statement I might make so I figured I needed to clarify.
wonder what the FPS is?
I always thought these styles looked really cool. I wouldnt mind picking up a crossbow when I get a job for coyote hunting..
Quote from: Smossy on August 09, 2013, 04:36:09 PMI always thought these styles looked really cool. I wouldnt mind picking up a crossbow when I get a job for coyote hunting..I shot one like that at the ATA show a few years back. It was SWEET!!! I was really tempted to get one to hunt antelope in WY with. If I could only figure out how to get one without taking a third mortgage on the house
With that short ATA and fat grip I almost thought it was a Mathews.
I wouldnt call it forgiving, and I dont think anyone will be stacking arrows with it at 100 yards any time soon
Quote from: alwinearcher on August 09, 2013, 04:41:28 PMI wouldnt call it forgiving, and I dont think anyone will be stacking arrows with it at 100 yards any time soon I'm sure if they only made a double hole peep for it everyone would be stacking arrows at 100 yards with it
The double peep thing doesn't work right? It looks way goofy to me.
Quote from: D-Rock425 on August 09, 2013, 05:14:36 PMThe double peep thing doesn't work right? It looks way goofy to me.Just watch the video - the thing is awesome I've been asked dozens of times to make one. Not going to happen. If it costs me business so be it. I expect there will be Youtubers that talk about how freakin' awesome it is. Just like most internet experts. But, we aren't much into the gimmick game just to make money. If I thought it was better we would make it. I have a hard enough time rationalizing selling pink, red and green peep sights which are horrible IMO. But at least the foundation of our Super-Deuce 38 peep is proven reliable.
Its how you look, not how you see.......
Have shot, sold, and set up a few of the Liberty's. agree on the forgiveness, not very good! And very jumpy at the shot. Nothing more then a gimmicky bow. No longer carry them for that reason. Double peep does work. Have shot a double set- up for the last 3 years on novelty 3-d courses. On on a Z7, lately on my Chill. Use a 3/16" RAD with a Tommy Hogg for 0-100 yards, then above it set a 1/4" RAD starting from 110-200 yards. Takes some practice learning how to drop the anchor and still stay fairly secure, but can keep the shots in the heart/ lung on a McKenzie goat 75% of the time at 200 yards. Wins a few s $'s when a few of us are shooting for money!
who uses a peep?
I shot my bow out to 70 better than most
I used a nock crimped on my string instead of a peep..as long as my nock was in my view just to the right of my pins I was on my anchor..shot years that way.. no more low light " I cant see my pins" issues
