So we all know from cartoons as kids that bears sleep in caves and you cant have caves without rocks so I'm starting to hunt in more rocky areas :dunno:.  I know its a stretch but I got to try something.

Hey DRock, I'd like to get out after work one day this week. I'd like to hit a spot that I saw a nice bear last year. If you'd like to go with let me know. This spot has rock and berries/brush. You know the spot.
I'd rather be hated for who I am, than loved for who I'm not!

Think of all the time and money and gas spent hunting bears... lets say its 30 miles round trip on average.  Now say you hunt just 15 total days for a small <200 lb bear.  Thats 450 miles of driving and gas for a MAYBE on a bear in 15 hunting days after work and such.

NOW, consider this.  Take that mileage (and add a little) and go to Idaho.  Bait the h*!! out of the bears and shoot a big'un.  Drive home triumphant knowing that you saw some cool country, probably saw 3 elk, 1 moose and 6 deer in the weekend.  And got to sit in a stand and wait for one to come to your bait.

The trick is getting some sucker over there to keep the bait stocked up for you.

Also, watch for wolves.
