Calling wolves?

have added some calls to my FoxPro caller and am wondering if anyone can point me in the direction of any LAW that says I can NOT go out and attempt to call wolves in WA.
Did a quick scan of the rules and regs for big game hunting and didn't see anything so I presume there isn't anything that prohibits it

Pursuit is considered hunting, trust me i learned that stupid lesson. I think you'd be ok, but still the right gamie would go after that and unfortunately there is alot of them like that.......

If you have no weapon and are not pursuing with hounds, I don't see how you can be classified as hunting. The greenies go howling for wolves all the time and that does not seem to be illegal.

If your howling for wolves your hunting, make sure you understand that. Any thing can be considered pursuit, and every pursuit is considered hunting. Just saying these guys saying howling is ok, is not ok by law. Again, i don't think most gamies would give you trouble but don't go by bearpaw's advice. No offense, but you are 100% wrong. If you call in wolves, even if just for pics, expect to have the chance to be persecuted for "hunting" wolves. That's the truth. I am amazed guys post pics of them on the web here in wa, just asking for trouble

Great point. Getting a ticket for calling in a wolf as "hunting" ain't gonna happen.

There was a news story last year from The Wedge (before they "wiped them out")  Can't find the footage now, but the bio up there was howling and got a response.

Yep, i would not doubt wdfw to fine you for hunting wolves if that circumstance were to happen.... Just ask guys who have already been their....
