I'll take that over griz encounters any day. My concern about them when backpacking in griz country embarrasses me.

My son has had wolves flank him 80-200 yards and howling/barking for miles walking out after dark when hound hunting in Idaho, the hounds were scared and sticking close, he was just as scared or more scared than the dogs. That hasn't happened to me yet, and I hope it doesn't.

Coyotes can give you the creeps or send a bit of a chill up your spine once in awhile.   This is a fresh new hell.

Understanding from those that have had hounds out when they hear it, I can't imagine the horror that must go through their mind.

Howling serveys tend to cut down on the pucker facter, especialy in the Methow. After a while it is just like your neighors dogs howling. When the abulance or cops sirens go off you can hear WDFW's wolves howling, I wonder if WDFW would consider that wolf harassment?

What about wolves harassing ranchers and your every day micro ranches? I kind of think WDFW would have a hard time pressing the issue, after all wouldn't they have to answer to the fact that they refuse to confirm known wolf packs?

I'm with ya too, Grizz scare the hell outta me.  A fresh grizz track and I'm hunting elsewhere!

I gotta save a bunch of  and go hunt one. Maybe when I retire.

Sounds like a good reason to switch from a bolt action hunting rifle to an AR platform with multiple clips for the just in case.  Just in case you have to save yourself from this 4 legged killers.
