Down around the lake will be a zoo opening weekend but Ive got into quite a few animals between Granite and Root lake. I actually tried to go scouting earlier this year up there but ran into to much snow and ended up setting my sights on the Blues.

I used to camp at Granite lake and just hunt out of camp. The thing I liked about it was theres not alot of elk (they are there) but there was almost nobody else hunting there.... Always a nice quite camp and peaceful hunting.. Good luck and let us know how it goes

It is going to be a zoo...  displaced peaches hunters moving south.  Why we can't have both is beyond me.

it's no different than it was 3 years ago.  It was only a 3 year change.  That was the plan all along, I don't know why this is such a shock to folks.

"Displaced peaches hunters". I'm guessing you switched to bow 3 years ago.  Cuz we always hunted Nile bumping before and there are plenty of elk there, just have to put the time in.  Happy happy happy the 3 years is up.

I have hunted the bumping since 2002.  I know crowded and I know un crowded.  To each their own.  My only point is that those who have got used to the last couple of years are going to be in for a shock.

And I stand by my view point that both units could be open.  I am tired of money and special interests deciding the regs instead of sound biology.   :twocents:
