Illuminocks shooting the same.
« on: August 11, 2013, 04:30:14 PM »
I have been reading other post about illuminocks shooting different then normal no is so I did a little trial myself.   This is my group at 60 yrds and they seem to be shooting the same.  Started at 20 and worked my way back.  The target was a 3x4 sticker.

The picture is turned 90 degrees.  I was hitting the top of the sticker not the side

They were shooting exactly the same for me till I hit 40 yrds. then I was about an inch and a half low. Slight adjustment and am dead on.

I took an out of state elk last year with a illuminock nocked arrow. The down fall with these is that with a fast FPS and slim carbon arrows if it goes clean through the animal the light will many times disengege. It only takes a small pull backwords for the contacts to break the connection (there designed that way).  Every time I have used them wether deer or elk they are off when I retrieve the arrow.  If the arrow doesnt penetrate and the nock and fletchings are outside the animal then you are good...so dont be surprised if you dont see the light at night.

That's why I like the Nockturnals. They have an internal switch that you have to stick something into a little notch in the nock to turn them off. They seem to be much more reliable than many of the other brands.
