Good deal on Vanguard High Plains Scope
« on: August 12, 2013, 09:38:46 AM »
I'm looking for a cheap spotting scope.  The High Plains 580 20-60x80 spotter popped up on the Clymb (discounted outdoor gear site) for $200 and it seems like a pretty good deal.

Anyone have a Vanguard USA spotter?  I don't think this is one of their hunting models so I'm a little worried about durability.

Feedback appreciated!

For an inexpensive spotter, I'd look hard at the Vortex Nomad. I haven't heard much talk on here ever about Vanguard optics stuff. I think their tripods and stuff like that are decent. Not even sure it's the same company.
