Having just purchased my first bow this summer, a Martin Bengal, i hope things go well. The bow has been great and it definitely established some brand loyalty.

Sent from my space modulator.

My favorite Martin bow would be the LYNX picked this up from a little store in woodinville maybe some of you know it woodcreek archery wow did this place change my life the adventures and life time friend have truly been a blessing

I remember the Lynx having a built in unintentional draw length clickety click.  Was sort of cool, but drove some guys nuts!  I took one of Woodcreek's customers hunting with me one time 26 or 27 years ago.  Haven't been able to shake him loose since. :party1:

Ended up becoming one of the best field shots, smartest hunters and the best friend I've ever known.

Hoping the best for Martin Company.  Started with a Martin Lynx in 1988 from 3 Bear sporting goods in Great Falls MT. Since then I’ve owned a Jaguar, a Cougar, and now hunt with a Saber Pro Series. Love their product and have had nothing but positive experience with them. Left the Lynx in car on a very hot July day  :bdid: and limbs split. Martin sent new set of limbs out to bow shop before they even got old ones back…Been loyal to them since beginning...Sad to see them in trouble  :sry:
Now therefore, please take your weapons, your quiver and thy bow, and go out to the field and hunt game for me
Genesis 27:3

I may not have alot but what I have I got honest.....

I'd rather be hated for what I am then be loved for what I'm not

Is it me, or are people getting dumber

...and my new Alien is awesome!

I've been getting my 2013 Alien setup for Battleready's overdue WY antelope hunt next week.  We've got to get rid of that tramp stamp camo pattern :chuckle:  A few fit and finish issues, but the bow shoots GREAT!  Had a small hum to the riser that was removed with some fine tune to the cam and a new 2013 Sim's Modular stabilizer (Love that thing!!!)  This just might be the quietest bow I have ever shot in my life.

Going to be strange sitting in a blind without my trusty (Bear) friend of four years :'(  But this bow is shooting just as good, faster and with only about half the noise.  Just not nearly as sexy as the Dark Horse.  I'm starting to feel sorry for those speedsters already :o

sad to hear about the company.  My Father-in-law knew the Martins back in the day and Martins are all he or I have shot, I have a Firecat, Moab and a MX 600 recurve.

and the Martin calender girls were pleasing to the eye.  :)

Honesty is the best policy,  but insanity is a better defense.

Hit the long range with the Alien this evening to get the sight ready for antelope this week.  Unfortunately, I was having one of my BAD days.  Fighting target panic on almost every shot.  The bow was surprisingly forgiving of my troubles and I was at least able to keep the grouping inside of 12" at 100 yards (with the exception of a few complete form breakdowns that never had a chance in heck - I hate target panic :bash:).  With a lot of my bows I might have had to use 50 as my second reference point which is never preferred.  So I am increasingly impressed with the bow.  And I am still flabbergasted at the stealth of the thing.  After yardages were set I shot a few groups at 30 from the blind.  Even in the blind the thing is super quiet!!  So dang quiet I thought I better go back to 100 and make sure I hadn't lost poundage.  Nope, still right at 29 on the scale.

One of the cool things for me was the ease at which I found the center of the sight bubble.  My hand shape is just super finicky to the angles of the bow grip with so many of the bows out there.  As many know this is the reason I will not shoot Hoyt or Mathews.  As well as a host of other manufacturers too.  It is the primary reason I've chosen to shoot Bear and Bowtech bows so often over the past decade.  This grip and vertical presentation on the Alien is as good as those bows I spend the most of my time with.  Another pleasant surprise!

Definitely some things I would like to improve on like the tramp stamp camo, the throat of the grip and the big bulky roller guard.  But all in all a great base to start from if we ever get a chance.  Hopefully by the time I get back from Wyoming we will know more about the business acquisition.  First time ever I'm hoping to be too busy with work to actually concentrate on hunting.  This trip is all about Battleready getting his first speedster anyhow.  I'm just along for the ride.  And the much needed stress relief!!!

Hey Rad, just a note on your last post about the big bulky roller guard...I have 2 Aliens, one with a Roller guard and one with a regular Carbon cable guard. Both shoot great, but both will have a regular carbon carbon cable guards by the end of this week. I'll PM you to explain more....

Almost all short two cam or Hybrid cam bows will do better with a cable slide rather than a roller guard.  But as the old saying goes..."easier to give them what they think want!"
