Well we are home.  Just the one goat.

Battleready had some good opportunities.  Just wasn't meant to be I guess.  Was shooting well on the range, out of the blinds it just seemed to be a bit much this year.  No doubt he is a better shot than I am.  So I figure the combination of a new anti-seizure medication, the 25 mph winds and the 14 hours each day in a freaking HOT 4' square box just took it's toll.  He's pretty bummed.  Maybe once he gets more accustomed to the medication he will be back in his usually killer ways and I will take him back.

I was glassing his blind from almost one mile away.  At one time there were more than 40 shooter bucks between he and I.  One bachelor band had 24 shooters in it!!!  I had never seen that before.  So I had a good time even if the flying ants and sun were biting and burning the heck out of me.  Not sure Battleready had as good a time though  ;)

Doug was on a new medication as well. And was actually very fun and pleasant this year!  That was a nice surprise :chuckle:

With my early goat I was able to keep up on movement at Martin.  Time running out and still no deals yet.  One of the RAD representatives had a meeting Friday with the jack wipe that is causing most of the trouble.  I should know the details of that meeting on Monday.  But so far no deals and no movement from others that I am aware of.
He asked, Do you ever give a short simple answer?  I replied, "Nope."

I just read through this thread from end to end.  I live in Walla Walla and shoot a Martin Jaguar Magnum circa 2004.  I upgraded to an Elite a few years ago, but went back to my old Martin last year after having some problems with the Elite.  I was going to upgrade to a new Martin this year, but decided to hold off because of the troubles with the company.
Not sure what else I can do to help, but I will commit to upgrading my Martin bow within 12 months if RadSav or someone else manages to save the company.
Good luck man.

Pic in earlier post updated with something not taken with my dumb phone.

For those who read our 2012 Wyoming Goat thread this might look familiar.  According to the land manager this is the same goat I passed on last year and posted the pic.  I was almost two miles from last years blind location.  I found that fun and will frame before/after-2012/2013 pictures beside the mount.

Stopped in at Steve's Archery last week, he said that it was a done deal.

New auction on schedule:

MARTIN ARCHERY
9AM - WED & THURS - SEPTEMBER 25 & 26
Preview 8-4pm, Tuesday, September 24
2134 Heritage Road (Old HWY 12), Walla Walla, WA 99362
Machine Shop, Manufacturing Equipment & Archery Inventory

Preview Coming Soon

I can honestly say I have absolutely no flipping idea what is going on right now!  Terry had called and let me know what was needed to stop the auction.  Within a few days RAD had paperwork to them that just needed to be signed within a term window.  That window closed weeks ago and I've heard nothing, seen nothing.  So your guess is as good as mine :bash:

I came across a cool ad for Martin in a "traditional bowhunter" magazine from 1997. It was a full page and showed the hand craftsman and how many years they have been at Martin. I'm sure many have retired by now as the years of employment ranged from 17 years to over 35. Good luck at the auction UncleRad!  Elk247 camp is pulling for you.

My first bow was a Cougar Magnum (metallic green also) and when the Firecat came out I had to have that, both of which were bought from Suzanne St.Charles at Northwest archery, She also showed me the basics to shoot in the back room. Great memories of both companies.
