As a red blooded American that has fielded a Rem700 for the last 12 years ( Good Man!). You have a responsibility, no! A duty as I do to continue to field Remington's and not sell out to the Tikka trinket crap! ;)

TIKKA'S SUCK!!!! :bash:

Bi-Mart is currently selling the Remington 700 SPS synthetics in stainless in any flavor of factory chambering that fits your fancy for 489.00. That is their scope rifle package, I have purchased 4 over the last couple years. 2 in the stainless(.300 Win, .243 Win) & 2 in the matte blue(.300 Ultra, 7mm Magnum) All have shot well with handloads. You can always upgrade the stock later.

You can't go wrong with a Remington 700.

Tikka's started out at 400.00 bucks, now that thing is going to run you 700.00 plus out the door for a stainless. I would rather throw the cash down for a Sako Finnlite or A7 way before I would take it in the shorts for a Tikka.

Hahaha!

I have this picture in my head of a yellow Pruis, the driver with a pocket full of Barnes crap and a Tikka riding shotgun. Ah hahaha!
Pure wisdom right here.
them tikkas may shoot but they still feel like cheap toys to me.

Own more Remington's then Tikkas, but most have been smithed to get the accuracy and smoothness I require..some factory Remington's are phenomenal shooters, but not near as consistently as the did in years gone by. A safer bet for an out of the box, smooth, accurate rifle would be the Tikka! As most comments here show! IMHO

With an M&P on his hip! :bash:

The M&P is unloaded in the glove box because he is clueless as to its operation. The retail salesmen behind the counter just said it was cool. :chuckle: :chuckle: :chuckle:

Get the T3. I have a couple Tikka T3, one a 30-06, the other my favorite is stainless .338 win mag. Both are very accurate out of the box and very lite weight.

While there is more aftermarket support for the Remington ,for strictly a hunting rifle, the T-3 would be less of a gamble. Remington's are hit and miss. With the T-3 you get an accurate rifle, removable mag, and a very easily adjustable trigger. There are aftermarket rails available for the T-3 also.

Tikka is a smooth shooting gun in all calibers.  My wife and I own two a 270 and 30.06 and father in law has a 270sm and it is also a great gun too.  Very light weight and shoots awesome!

I purchased the Stainless Tikka T3 300 win mag synthetic stock and have been very satisfied. I mounted a Vortex Scope and was very happy when I was able to put three holes at 100yrds in a 1" circle immediately after sighting it in. I've also had good groups out at 300yrds and with practice this rifle has given me a good understanding of what's going to happen when I pull the trigger. I don't know a lot about rifle brands, but I did ask questions and researched and read reviews before I purchased my rifle. Very Happy!

T3 all day long. Great quality trigger for a spec gun. My .300 wsm can keep up with my high end custom .300 wsm.

The attached picture is the tikka @ 200 yards.

Do yourself a favor and and least take a look at the "new" (beginning in 2008) South Carolina made Winchester Model 70's.  Many Winchester fans think they might possibly be the best Model 70's yet, or if not, at least as good as the pre-64's.  Thery are an exact reproduction with state of the art machines.

I perfer nice wood and blue, but you can certainly find whatever combo synthetic, stainless, whatever in those new Winchesters.  Check Winchester's site.   By all accounts they shoot really well out of the box.
