A friendly shooting match
« on: October 31, 2008, 04:39:44 PM »
While me and a friend had a little shooting match and you might call me the winner but I lost two arrows in the deal. We started out shooting 20yards and with the the old shoot the apple of the head (used a foam head) and I was the winner of that. Then we started to shot at a bearing with about 1/2" out side dia. and I hit it with the third shot sticking my gold tip 30x tip to it. Then it went on to see who could Rodin hood an arrow :bdid: after 5 shots I had won that one too. We need to figure out something a little cheaper to do then shot at arrows :chuckle:. I have picks of the 30x with the bearing stuck to it but I can't get it to load right now. I do have this as prof of the robin hood.

I have shot for 10+ years and still no robin hood, I have a buddy with 3 to his credit.

I have just the one this year, as it is my first year, but they are too expensive to keep doing!

I did break 3 of his nocks off so it wasnt a total loss :chuckle:

That's why I used my bemans, I learned after I shot my series 22pro :chuckle:. I have looked at getting some more good arrows but don't have the money right now so I need to save them.

We use to shot 3 or 5 spot but it gets old fast and doesn't seem to be a challenge after a while, That why we started to look for some thing new to shot at.  :P

ya they do get old, but I hate breaking arrows that spendy.. we used to buy smal stuffed animals and had to shoot them in certain spots..... that was fun........ or we would turn off the lights and shoot with a spotlight.....

Very cool.  Last night I attended my club's Rocky Horror Turkey Shoot and had a blast.  The shoot was at night and consisted of using flashlights on the walk-thru course with 20 different targets.  Each target had pictures of multiple items from bats to pumpkins, etc.  Depending on which item you shot you either gained or lost points.  It was very fun.

Used flashlights?  Are they trying to get folks all practiced up for poaching season or what?? :chuckle:
