maybe try the scatter creek wildlife area between maytown and Rochester exits. I don't know how many rabbits you'll find but there is lots of area to look.

Maybe Capital Forest.  Just start trying some roads with grass and dandelions growing and you will likely find some bunnies sitting on the edges of the roads.

My yard is full of them this year.  I know I will limit out on opening day in my yard. 8)

To get to Capital Forest, just head south from Oly and take exist 95 (Maytown exit) and head west to Littlerock.  Go past Littlerock, up the hill on 128th St to the T at Mima Rd/Wadell Creek Rd.  Then you can go left or right depending on where you want to enter the state forest.

If you look at this map: http://www.capitolforest.com/trailmappage.html  you will get a better idea of what I'm trying to say.

To get to Scatter Creek, also take exit 95 but instead of heading to Littlerock, take Case Rd to the south (left) and drive maybe 5 miles on Case Rd until you see a large parking lot on the right.  There is a large red Barn before you get to the main parking lot; you could park there and walk around in there looking for rabbits.

There are other ways too (to get into Capital Forest).  But since Scatter Crk was also mentioned I thought I'd point you in the Littlerock direction.  Good luck.

Only problem with that spot is it's private property.

As for Scatter Creek, I'm not sure I've ever seen a rabbit out there. Not that there aren't any, but I've spent a lot of time out there. I do see them on the streets and in people's yards just south of the public hunting area.

Large red barn is burnt down so look for the scorched ground  :chuckle:

Is the Arrow pointing to the parking for Scatter Creek?

Thanks!

Yes. The other parking area is to the north by where the red barn used to be until it burned down a couple weeks ago, as kglacken said.

You can also hunt the area off 183rd avenue. And there is another parking area there.

The field that madmack was describing. It's not state land.
