Western WA Blacktails.
« on: August 17, 2013, 01:25:35 PM »
Didn't get a chance to get a game cam up this summer, but I just love daydreaming about TRUE hog blacktails running around. So here's my question, if you had to throw  a Boone and Crockett number out there, what's the biggest WESTERN WA blacktail you've captured this summer? I don't want pics, locations or any of that, just some preseason motivation.

I would say anywhere between 115 and 130 is a nice trophy coastal blacktail ...anything bigger than 130 is over the top  :twocents:

I got this guy on my cell phone camera. The pic is fuzzy and then cropped so it's a crummy pic but you get the idea.
I think he's all of 120". I don't have a blacktail camera out this year but I might put one out tomorrow.

Couple weeks ago while scouting the willapa hills unit we saw a buck skylined that was simply massive. Antlers were out past his ears, looked like a huge muley up there... He was almost instantly gone and we had no chance to get pics, but we returned armed with trail cams and salt licks. Hopefully we can locate him in time for bow season!  :archery_smiley:
