Big Day tomorrow
« on: October 23, 2008, 04:02:13 PM »
Taking my twin 4 year olds out hunting for the first time.  We are going to chase pheasants.  Should be a blast, I can't wait to watch the dog work and have the kids experience upland hunting.  Headed to the Cooke Canyon hunt club, feels like cheating a little bit, but I want to make sure they have a great experience their first time in the field.  I've waited a long time for this day........

Have fun!  I am thinking about taking my daughter out for a short hunt in the morning.

Had a good time with the kids, would have been even better if I had got one of the 4 roosters the dog flushed up, we were all a little rusty, dad's shooting wasn't too good, dogs flushing skills need to be fine tuned and the little legs need to walk more I think.  Oh well, it was good to chase pheasants again and good to have the little ones experience the thrill of the hunt.  A couple hours and they were pretty tired.

Looks like your son brought a knife to a gun fight.  What are the regs on a sword?

Glad you had a great time.

He had to bring something, I told him his cap gun might be a better idea but he wanted to get the bird with his sword, lol.
