Bear Hunting JBLM
« on: August 18, 2013, 05:56:02 PM »
Just got stationed at JBLM from the east coast. I'm ready to get out in the woods somewhere for Bear. Was thinking about registering to hunt on JBLM and was wondering if someone could show me the ropes out there. I'm in the puyallup area. Any help would be great. Thanks!

Unfortunately, for the most part, squirrel hunting is not allowed in this state.

You can hunt squirrels but it's somewhat difficult to tell the species apart and shooting the endangered/threatened ones is a pretty big deal.

Any squirrels on JBLM would most likely be either Western Grey Squirrels, which are an endangered species, or Douglas squirrels, which are plentiful, but still 100% protected.

Welll....now that you mention it, the Pigmy Rabbit is endangered and protected!  But the good news, I don't believe they are around this area, I believe they are mostly central/eastern side critters.
