Zeiss custom skinning knife/ Optics planet.
« on: August 19, 2013, 08:22:23 AM »
I received a e-mail from Optics Planet today, I have purchased optics through them here and there over the years but Camera Land NY is still my go to place.

The e-mail was letting me know they were starting to carry some knives, being a custom knife collector and having been around many quality customs and understanding materials, steels and current prices along with availability and wait times. A knife they carry quickly caught my eye. The knife " Zeiss Custom Skinner " is a result of a joining of Kerry Bowmen(Custom knife maker) and Zeiss.

The Zeiss Custom Skinner is currently selling for 140.00, considering the materials and craftsmenship that is a smoking deal. Most knife makers I know and have dealt with wouldn't even consider it at that price. It would run 350.00 plus.

Ziess Custom skinner
440C Stainless
3 1/2" blade
Buffalo horn/ stabalized walnut scales (Handle/grip)
Custom weave style sheath by Bradley Bauer.

If you've wanted a great custom skinner but didn't want the wait time or didn't care for the 350.00 plus price tag this is a great deal!!!! 440C is good stuff, I prefer it over S30V any day. In the end I'm a die hard D2 steel guy, I just take care of my steel.

With as many knives as you've got, I think you just might have a shot at bringing a knife to a gunfight!
