When I was younger and ignorant, I spent a number of years rifle hunting deer & elk here. Burned a lot of boot leather and rarely saw or heard grouse. I did find a few covies of quail just inside (and out) of the gated entrance near Hunters Rd. Far better places to go for both birds.

I've noted lots of quail and some chukar, but rarely any grouse.....suppose it depends on what portion of the LT you are talking about.

Any upland bird would be good. I'm still just trying to scout out general areas.

So their are quail, awesome.

Thanks.

I've got a grouse hotspot there, but it is good because I keep it a secret.

It's a big area, in the timber there are some grouse, in the range/sage you have quail and the occasional pen raised pheasant, in the steep rocky areas there are some chukar.

So, I've dialed this in to "somewhere around Cle Elum" but what does LT Murray mean or where is it?
I am trying to connect with, and introduce my family to, the American hunting and fishing heritage to which I was never introduced.

Its been years since I've hunted LT (miss it) but never had much trouble finding grouse. Spent a lot of time around Hutchins Canyon, Robinson Canyon and Joe Watt. Put the hurt on a lot of yotes there as well.

Anywhere in particular? No, no not the GPS coordinates, in what kind of habitat?
