Lewis River Question
« on: August 19, 2013, 03:50:45 PM »
I've been scouting 560 for a couple weeks now. It's been a while since I hunted that unit and mostly the northern portions and into the Packwood unit. Can anyone tell me how much walk-in/bike-in pressure the Clearwater Creek area on the East side of St Helens gets?

I have been hunting there 15 years and have been scouting 3 times this year and seen 6 different trucks parked up at the gate that people bike in I have a feeling it's going to be busy down there.

Spent all kinds of time driving up there last year during archery scouting for a Margaret muzzy tag.

You wont be alone. Some were heading down on horses also at what I believe is the main logging road down in from the 25 side. Pretty well rigs and camps from where the 25 crosses the muddy all the way till I turned off the 99 onto the 26. Don't think I saw any camps on the 99 unless some of the folks up at Bear meadow were hunters(likely). Lots of camps on the 25.

Have to remember a lot of those camps along 25 rd are berry pickers during archery season.
