I'd politely ask him to make it right, either by refunding your money or having someone else redo it, leave the option up to him. If he refused, then I would make sure he knows how many potential customers you will make sure has the entire story and pics, by explaining your side online through websites, Facebook etc.

The hunting community is large, but online resources are not so vast that he would escape having his business effected permanently, he has to realize that. If he still refuses then i wouldn't feel bad about outing him and his business, he obviously wouldn't be in business long anyway. :twocents:

That sucks!  Just because a taxidermist is terrible at their job does not necessarily mean that they will go out of business.  We have a local that has been doing really bad work for many years but because this person is related to so many people in the area and prices are dirt cheap, they stay in business.

Sundance- Sorry about your buck. That is a terrible representation of what for some would be a once in a lifetime buck. But I applaud you for not publicly trashing the taxi without him being able to respond. That shows you are a much more stand up guy than the taxi was.  :salute:

Glad things are looking up for you. I'm kind of sweating bullets now though, I pick up my 2012 buck Sunday from a guy I've never worked with before. Beautiful buck you harvested there congrats!

Id have it completely re done..that looks terrible and sorry to see such a great buck mounted that way. There are more things wrong with that than could be fixed. I agree the antlers were not set correctly. That buck you killed was a bruiser, the neck and head are big! this doesnt represent it all.

Thanks for the compliments Sundance I really appreciate the manner in which you handled the situation. It showed that you have good character and are a standup guy and we all could use clients like that (Thank You)That is what caught my attention and is why I am willing to help.

Sundance:

I commend you on not turning this thread into ANOTHER "Trash the Taxi" dog-pile. It shows allot of character on your part.  Seems like when a thread like his is started its like blood in the water and there are some that are just chomping at the bit to swim up and take a bite.  Your focus to get the quality mount you want supersedes the desire to rant and trash the shop that did your initial work thereby almost eliminating the possibility of an equitable outcome. Blindsiding a business with a negative internet review and then approaching them to make it right leaves you very little leverage to to be treated well. I'm not saying that this shop shouldn't be held accountable for turning out substandard work. I'm simply saying that your approach in dealing with this problem shows an incredible amount of maturity and integrity. Great Example to others THANKS

Best of luck
