Not sure of Poe mtn area. But there are a ton of bear around lake Wenatchee. But it is also very thick cover and hard to see them. There is a fire in the eagle creek drainage and that area is closed. I don't know of other fires, check inciweb.

The only fire I am aware of is the Eagle Creek fire, don't think there are any around Lake Wenatchee. However, the overall opinion seems to be that there are no bears around there..... that sucks.

There's bears everywhere. Hunted that area a lot in the past. Had one almost run me down as I was making my way back to my rig. He was huge and really moving.  Ran past me no more than 10 yards away. There was no time to even get my rifle up. That's the only one I've ever seen in that area and I've been all over that area. Thick cover, hard to see them but they're there for sure. Mostly all cinnamon from what I've heard. The one I saw was a big cinnamon toad.
