Long sleeves and 100% deet

Don't get 100% deet on your face it makes your lips numb and non functional. Trust me I know

 :yeah:

And I just got back from fishing in Alaska and up there some of the guys we fished with had dryer sheet and just rubbed them on your skin and clothes and it really worked.

On my last bear hunt I used a thermacell for the first time and it worked great. They even sell refills now with earth scent so it repels skeeters and puts out a cover scent.

I use a thermacell whether I am sitting or walking. Works great both ways for me.

I use the Coleman odorless mosquito spray. It's not odorless, but they charge more for it, so there's that!  :chuckle:

Does the thermacell need to be on your most outer laayer of cloths? Or can i clip it to my pants and have my coat/hoody on draped over it?

Thermocell has small propane canisters that heats the pad that repels the flying insects.

Yes it has to be on your outer layer, not really a flame but the propane heats some metal that definitely glows.

Bug X wipes  (http://www.coretexproducts.com/bugx) to keep them from biting & thermocell to keep them from harassing you.
Trust me the BUG X wipes work great, one application lasts approx. 7 hours.

Thermacell is all I use. Just sit it beside you when sitting and you're good to go. Wind can make it less effective but there are usually less bugs the stronger the wind. I run long sleeves and pants no matter the temp too.
