We were nearing the end of our hunt went up around a bend for no longer than 2 minutes came back to find a fresh pile of sign. Man we were so close.

Seen a couple more piles similar in diet. Also within a more recent pooping as well. It looked like it was grass but isn't that a more early diet thig ?

that's nasty

I wouldn't eat that bear anyways, not that I'm convinced it's even a bear.

Not even a seed in that poo? Were there berries around, other food sources? Just curious how you know for sure it is bear. Looks like a cat maybe? Especially if you were as close to the corner as you say. You would think you guys would have heard it.   :dunno:

I've had cats crap right in my tracks - they'll follow you down a trail and crap right where you been.

Kinda funny as they don't always even try to bury it, nope they lay a big ol stinky deuce right in your footprint.

Not sure the signal they're sending by doing that, maybe a territory thing?

There was plenty of other bear poo around some with berries others with this grassy stuff

Also some of the poo was old like weeks old

I was way out in the woods nobody around. Is that a bobcat thing as well?

I do agree it seems odd we couldn't hear the thing.

I have seen some weird bear crap, but I am not sure if this is even bear. There is nothing for size reference, but it is definitely not a full grass pile, more like fir needles than grass.
It looks like whatever it was had been feeding on rotten meat.
