I will ask if he will do that. I am not privy to all info in this case either. He is winning, GW was wrong somehow. There is alot more to it tho, you are right. I just dont wanna cause any issues by someone thinking I know it all. I just speak from the experience I do have. If you wanna jump on me for that then go ahead.

I know a guy that was feeding the deer and bears were coming in eating the deer feed. He asked the Game Warden if that was baiting bear, the Game Warden said, NO. You can shoot it since you're not baiting bears. Different interpretation of the law.
Good point. I wouldn't be shooting bears off my deer bait still tho. Sounds like a good warden. The feed isn't placed there to specifically attract bears...

Stick to apples. The bear...err, I mean dear love em. So do the elk. Totally legal to bait deer and elk with apples.

Cool, thank you for the update.  Hope you can get him to share his experience so maybe we can learn & avoid something like that in the future.

So I saw this small bottle of liquid sweet smell at cabelas.is using this considered baiting? I have seen many different styles of baiting in videos and all over the web and this wasn't one.the guy at cabelas said it wasn't but seems in here most of y'all are the experts.

Just use it as after-shave.  Nothing illegal in that.

So with that in mind, the lure wasn't thrown out to catch the native fish, so go ahead and keep the wild one, because I was really fishing only for hatchery fish?

I would almost think the the WDFW officer was either setting me up for a bust later or just didn't know what he/she was talking about...
