Archery Mule Deer Video - Is the 2nd shot too brutal?
« on: August 25, 2013, 05:50:55 PM »
Hey, here is another Film It Yourself Mule Deer hunting video: Graphic POV Archery Mule Deer Hunt - Orion - Head cam Bow Hunting by Solvid FIY

The camera used is a very cheap, old, low quality pos, but managed to capture a great film. This is actually the first CamStrap kill! A second shot was not needed as the arrow hit an artery, but to put him down quicker, I stuck him again; do you think I should have included it in the video, or should have I ended it after the first shot?

Thanks for watching. The antis have begun disliking, so please watch on Youtube and click Like on this and all of the videos (if in fact you do like) to combat the idiots who are wrecking our great country. Also, we are giving away a CamStrap on our Facebook page; to enter, like Solvid (https://www.facebook.com/SolvidSystems) and share an add photo on the timeline.

Thanks for all of the support!

I think its great.  Deer reacts like he was hit with a rifle slug on both shots.

Your first shot was very impressive.  Way to stay cool and predict his movements!

Stud buck and a humane kill IMO
Kindly do not attempt to cloud the issue with too many facts.

Absolutely not too graphic at all.  Not too often does a big muley drop like that from a single arrow, but to have back to back shots which both drop him, is pretty incredible.  What are you shooting?.........90# limbs with 200 grain broadheads? :chuckle:

when I seen your title I expected to see blood spraying everywhere....exact opposite....awsome video...your main goal is to take a deer in the most humans fastest way possible....your first shot was dead on and it was a dead deer...and you reacted fast enough to get a second great shot and put him down....you did the right thing.....anytime you can get a second arrow in your animal to lower the chances of him getting away is always better   if I had Facebook I would click like

I don't see many people who have the time or opportunity to pattern muleys!
Awesome video!

So maybe it is not super graphic, but the title does catch peoples attention.

when I seen your title I expected to see blood spraying everywhere....exact opposite....awsome video...

It was a bloody mess for the recovery. That is why there was no recovery footage. The first shot seemed low for a spinal hit, but the reaction is obvious that it did it damage. It definitely hit an artery though and he would have bled out pretty quick without the second arrow; of course I was not about to let him get up (doubtful) or suffer longer than necessary.

Glad you guys liked it. I posted a Close Range Double Archery Kill in the coyote forum that is really neat. Please check it out!

Thanks for the support! Chris
