I carry a glock 19, its smaller than your XD and it carries 15+1.  However I would not carry on the small of your back.  It is not a smart place to carry.  If you are sitting in a chair, or on your back, or up against a wall, you cannot get to your gun.  You can carry wherever you want, but I just wanted to give you a little insight.

I am partial to the glock, I know a lot of people don't like them, the grip angle or their ugly, or whatever, go F yourselves... the glock is a great gun.  I went with the 19 because I can conceal it well, and I can get a full purchase on the weapon.

I agree. I've been carrying on my side or in my pocket. I don't like it in my back.

I carry a Glock 23 right now but I am looking to switch to a S&W shield soon! It's a sweet gun!

LOL, Kel Tec could make a "George Zimmerman Commemorative Model"  I'm sure they'd have to make it stainless, so its color-neutral :chuckle:

My XD 4 in. Service .40 conceals very well with just a tee shirt.
I almost bought the two tone model, but decided on black, that way Al and Jessy could have no excuse for "implied" discrimination.

I love how compact this LC9 is. Really light, too.

I have a G23 that I carry a lot, but for what you are asking there are a whole list of compact singlestack 9's out there that are just a little easier to conceal. My KAHR is a great shooting gun in 9mm, the same piece in a .40 can be a bit snappy..

I almost bought a Kahr but wasn't happy with the lack of any safety except for the depression switch on the trigger.

I carried a Kahr for quite a while.  I see a safety as a nuisance on a CCP that is going to be in a holster.  They do have a very long trigger pull though.

Ruger LC9's are pretty fricking sweet. Its as thin as my cell phone... together (cell phone, and gun) are thinner than my wallet.    :chuckle:
The LC9 is really light wieght as well.

I carry an LC9 and love it.  Cheap ammo and lightweight.  Shoots nice for its size and weight.
I also have an LCP380 with the factory lazer for ultra concealment.  But I don't care much for how it shoots.  Then again I hopefully never need to shoot it.

Don`t know if you guys heard about this, but with all of the posts about the S&W Shield  I thought it might be informative.

Beretta PX4 Storm 4 inch. Smaller frame and it shoots so smooth. Low recoil and carries well. Either IWB or side holster.

I really like the LC9. Low profile and even though it's small, no big kick like I expected. I'm quite happy with it.

I'd go with a Shield or a GSSF glock subcompact

I carried one of these for a couple years and liked it.

Considering the extras it may be in your price range
