I've been looking forward to my Camping, dove and grouse hunting trip to my property for months. It's layed back and relaxing, dove hunting in the morning, kicking back in the afternoon and grouse hunting in the evening. My wife just told me her mother will be here from Longbeach {Calif } either tonight or early tomorrow morning. I said "we're leaving first thing tomorrow morning" She said "Mom wants to go to, she said she'll use a outhouse, sleep in a tent and enjoy the solitude...........Oh, joy. A week in a 17 ft. camp trailer with mom in law...........I mean, she's a great person, I love her dearly............ But a week in a 17ft camp trailer......... OH, GAWD......

If she is flying in call the airport security and make up a story about her smuggling something ,you might be going without her

My mother in law also happens to be from Long Beach, Ca. Now that he is out of prison, the next time we meet up she wants to bring her new felon husband to meet me and my family (I work in law enforcement as a PO FYI). She has also come up in the past under the same guise you mentioned of living it up in the outdoors. My advice?: Fall down a flight of stairs and rupture your spleen. Or find something....anything... to get out of her coming. It's just me, but I would do about anything to avoid my MIL.

They removed my spleen when I had cancer.......... Maybe I can just break my neck, and not get released until she leaves.

Camp close to town and send them off G sales or shopping while you hunt. Around camp just fall a sleep. Or have so many camp chores they decide to go on a road trip somewhere else for the week.

I like the airport suggestion! The first time we brought our daughter home to Chicago MIL insisted in meeting us in the baggage claim and we she ran up to my wife to rip our kid from her arms I started yelling "hey lady put down my kid". She had 100 people ready to tackle her!
