Since you are not an administrator to the Taxidermy threads you might just ignore the questions there. Your name and reputation should be your main concern because when you have multiple threads showing up bashing you it's not good for buisness. IMO

Still nothing but excuses  :bdid:

but getting off the Internet and going back to work is a good idea, Iceman has been waiting 52 months for his rug and skull! Fifty-two!

:yeah: Exactly. One is your business and the other is an information source. They do not require equal attention.

I am logging off and taking a break from the drama on this site.  I will be back when I am back.  I have work to do and I don't have time to entertain people on here just looking to create more drama.
Yet you logged just 4 hours later. Just couldn't help yourself could you.  :chuckle:  I felt bad for you at one time. I don't any longer you are just asking for it at this point.  :bash:

Be more concerned with your character than your reputation. Your character is who you actually are while your reputation is merely who others think you are.

Oh boy!  This is worse than I thought.  I feel terrible for Iceman and Sundance.  I know how they must feel.  At this point I am wondering what my options are and the options of others in the same predicament.  Does my bear still even exist in her shop?  If it does, will it be finished with the same quality artistry that brought me to her?  Why is there people from 2009 and 2010 still without their mounts?  Does that mean that I get in line behind Ice and SD and all the rest of 2009 and 2010? (that would only be fair). Have other people got finished work who turned their stuff in after us?  If this is true then why did she pick us to screw?  I couldn't imagine anybody wanting to hurt a guy like Iceman.  I have been told for over a year now on the phone and PMs that my bear was being worked on presently.   If this is true Michelle, let me know when you can finish it.  Please don't put it ahead of Sundance or Ice but give us honest appraisal of finish date.  If you have done nothing than give it back to me and keep the deposit.  I will find somebody else to finish it.  I am sure you have your excuses but I don't want to hear them.

...just an update...I still don't have my bear back from 2011.   I don't have any recent communication from her regarding estimated completion date.  The last pm I sent her was May 24 and has been unanswered.   Suggestions?

If it was me , I'd drive down to her shop and discuss.

TRB stay on the high road. Don't do anything inappropriate.....like you have already, you appear to have been  civil and reasonable.

I have three lawyers in my family and was close to legal action ... but she got lucky and finished.

Good luck.

TRB,
It was my intent to pick up my mounts.  But, I got my first firm date of when they'd be completed and that is the best scenario.  I understand your frustration but to me its simple.  IF a rug is $1200 and you've paid $500 (for example).....I'd pick up my rug, take to someone else and have them finish.  IF the final bill was $800, I would pay it but then expect Michelle to be responsible for $100.

It's a tough deal all the way around but the idea of having a firm date is SO comforting.  If Michelle can't provide ONE..... I would take it to someone who will.   :twocents:

I agree that you guys should consider picking up your unfinished mounts.  Deception is not part of my nature but given the fact that getting the run around is par for the course at this shop I would call and pose as a potential customer wanting to drop work off to be sure she is home when you show up.  It will likely be an uncomfortable discussion for your in-person meeting but at this point what other options do you have? :twocents:

This topic comes up here more than anything else I see and yet people still send her work.  There are many other quality taxidermists out there, I got my bear rug back in 13 months from the 2012 season and it looks amazing.  Do some research people, we all know her MO so don't complain when you get the status quo.

Most of these threads and issues didn't start popping up until last year and this year. These gentlemen have had their trophies with her since 2011 and longer, way before there was any public outcry of problems here. They didn't "know her MO" and I'm pretty sure no one on the forum is taking work to her now, so I feel they have every right to complain. It's now been helping 2013+ potential customers to steer clear I'm sure.
