My dads first nice buck in a few years he shot him at about 800 yards with a old 7 Weatherby Mag huge body this nice buck rubbed his points together made a nice  2 x 3 about a 30 inch spread across. This crazy rifle has bitin everyone it has ever been in contact with ..this year was no different though  my dads first shot bit him right between the eyes "followed by some very nice french"  since his pack slid down and hit him right as he shot made for a great day of giving him crap while we were packing this big boy out

I inherited an older WBY 300 Mag that kicks like a mule too.  Never been scope kissed by it, but it's a chore to sight in.  I only use it as a backup rifle.  SOmeone once told me that those old Weatherby stocks were designed to look beautiful, not to absorb recoil.   :chuckle:

Nice mule deer I took yesterday.

"One does not hunt in order to kill; on the contrary, one kills in order to have hunted..If one were to present the sportsman with the death of the animal as a gift he would refuse it. What he is after is having to win it, to conquer the surly brute through his own effort and skill with all the extras that this carries with it: the immersion in the countryside, the healthfulness of the exercise, the distraction from his job."
