Ok, it's day one of the Peaches Ridge Muzzy season and this guy comes barging in on you.

What do you do?

Pass on day one. He's young and not that big.

I agree for the most part unless I had tons of scouting in and cameras that weren't showing much if anything bigger. He is a decent young bull but it would be tough to pull the trigger the first morning.

I would probably take him. I ended up with a spike on the last day of the season with the same permit, in 2005 I believe it was.

I didn't pass up any. We just never got within muzzleloader range of any bulls.

This is the bigest bull to show so far. I swapped cards yesterday and found that the batteries had died on August 11th. There were 2300 pictures, and 3/4 of them were at night. I have a feeling that the flash bured up the batteries.

I was bummed that I didnt have pics from the last couple of weeks. I'm hoping that more salty bull will appear.

But I'll have to be honest, this bull steps out on day one, Bang! Whe would make a dandy first elk.

If its a first Elk you shoot!
If your looking for a trophy let him walk. (You probably have a couple under your belt if your trophy hunting).

Depends on what else you have been seeing in there.  If you don't have a bigger one nailed down, I'd be shooting...

Shoot'em! I took a spike with my bull tag last year. First bull we saw once the season started, day 5 of hunting. I would have loved to have seen one like that!

If he makes you happy shoot him. I wouldn't shoot, I have no problem passing a bull early if it's not to my standards, and am happy shooting a dink on day 4 or 5. As long as you are happy that's all that matters. Good luck on your hunt. That unit has potential to produce a very nice bull.
