Today's adventure!!!!
« on: September 03, 2013, 08:10:23 PM »
I spent 11 hours on a stock today. Got sunburnt to a crisp spent four of the hours with in 50 yards of five bedded deer four legal and one a two point. The buck I was after is the one in the pictures the next biggest is a good buck but not the caliber of the buck I was after. The smallest legal deer gave me two shot opportunities, the next biggest an alright four point gave me me around 15 different shot opportunities through out the stock (I had to bump him twice to get where I needed once there he got up out of his bed a lot giving me shots every time) the second biggest gave me two shot opportunities (A buck I would shoot but didnt want to screw up a shot at the big guy) the big one gave me two shots at 60 yards but they were bedded on the edge of the ground I can hunt and both shots were on the no go side of the fence. All my shots were 50 yards and under except the big one and I am confident in all those distances.  I have my multi season and I am holding out for the big one. My dad and hunting buddies think I am crazy for passing on all the other deer the way I did. Just wanted to see what you guys think? The first two pics are of the big one and the next two are the next biggest buck. In the fourth pic the buck in question is the farthest to the left.

Good grief what a buck you are after! Definitely worth a good sunburn.

Good luck.

Great story. The season is young, so holding out sounds okay to me.
I would be happy with any legal buck, but......

Good luck in your hunt

That's the plan. I mean I have all three seasons to get him, and the archery and muzzle my group I the only people putting hunt pressure on the area. The rifle is like a zoo though. As long as we don't push to hard during the archery season the muzzle should be a for sure deal as long as my brother or dad don't pull the trigger before me.
