Great picts Don.

Trial season starts in two weeks for my dog, And Im hating the checks Im about to write to my trainer.  She will run in the Brittany Chicken Ch in NE, then the Pheasant CH in IA, the Quail CH in KS, followed by the Kansas championship, and then the Dixieland Championship in Nashville.  After that will be the OAA and AAA Nationals in Booneville, Arkansas.  7 Championships in 5 states in 3 months.  Plus a weekend 1/2 hr AAA at Nashville.  Gotta love fall trial season.  It's a busy one.

Good luck this Fall.  My bitch won the East Seattle Pointing Dog Retrieving Trial in Open Gun Dog for a 4 point major towards an AKC FC title a few weeks ago and is going to Madras, OR this weekend - so watch out! ;-)

It's a lot of fun Don, but tough on the dogs.  One week it's wide open terrain on true All Age grounds with wild chickens in the Sandhills of NE, and then it's tight eastern style grounds in TN with heavey cover and well defined edges more suited for gundogs.  It's tough for a dog to go all out with a big run in the Prairies where a dog can be seen for miles, and then reign it in and run the same dogs on a tight course more suited for gundogs and have to check in way more so they dont get lost, and be competitive in both environments.  But the top dogs make it work, and its pretty impressive to watch.  Its tough on the nerves though.  In the Prairies you can see your dog easily even with the biggest casts, in the East you have to trust your dog is with you even when you only see them for about 10-15 minutes of a 1 hr trial.
