624 coyle unit

Anybody ever hunt the Coyle unit for bear? My Grandparents own some property up there that I could stay at and was wondering if its worth checking out?

No bears up there. All the berries and hills, and valleys, and streams, and clear cuts, and swamps, and reproductive, and timber, and tasty baby deer and all the other yummy treats keep them away. I would avoid it like the plague if looking for bear sign almost anywhere you go.
Seriously though, check out orm.com for maps of areas open to hunting on all of the pope land. There is also plenty of state land. Anywhere on the south/east half of the unit is great. I don't know about the rest.

I was up there this weekend.  Found a few nice clearings, lots of berries mixed in with old tailings and whatnot.  Found 1 really stinky pile of poo covered with flies.  Saw no bears though.

If your looking for somebody to hunt with, I'd go...  I'm new to it so I cannot give you any advice, but I'd be willing to be another set of eyes and another rifle.

Hit me up. I live near there. There are some monsters in there. So much food on the coyle, that you have to find the  iBEST food. Blue and black huckleberries. I live ten mins from there.
