A Few Doves with My Great Grandpa's 20 ga
« on: September 04, 2013, 08:02:02 AM »
I went out after work the other day to look for some doves, but couldn't find the choke tubes for my shot gun. I figured what the hell and grabbed the 20 gauge that I inherited from my great grandpa. I ended up going 3 for 3 with it and my buddy ended up 2 for 2. The birds weren't real thick around our spot we will take what we can get!

Nice work! I shoot a 20ga for doves as well. Ithaca mod 500 featherlight O/U. I like to shootem with a 20ga, they're light and fast swinging. Good match for those little rockets!
Fish hard, hunt harder!

I would definitely agree with that. My 20 is actually an Ithaca 900 semi auto. This was the first time I've used it in a few years, but 7/8 ounce of 9s seemed to get the job done.
