The permit comes with a piece of paper that has your name on it, any childern you take in and you wife if you choose to have them on ther permit. It is also stamped with a seal. So you are pretty much s.o.l.

Their website says it can be sold to one other person or a spouse.

Read down further; it is under the permit headline.

Terms and Conditions - Permits

1. “Permittee” is the person(s) who purchase an access permit. A permit can be sold to one person or to legally-married spouses. Children and grandchildren under the age of 19 may accompany the Permittee at no additional charge. A Permittee cannot assign, transfer, or otherwise convey their permit to another party.

2. Permittee may use the permit area for any legal recreation purposes that comply with the actual terms of the Permit. Permitee shall not damage, cut, injure or destroy any trees, crops, roads, fences, buildings or other improvements located on the leased property. Permittee agrees to compensate Weyerhaeuser (WY) for any damages to the above. Do not drive nails, spikes, screw, bolts or any metal object in any tree.

3. All local, state and federal laws shall be observed by Permittee. If a Permittee observes any illegal activity on WY property, it should be reported to Weyerhaeuser via the e-mail address listed on the “Contact Us” tab at the top of the web page.

4. Permittee’s use of WY property is at their own risk. The permit area is within unimproved timberland used primarily for growing and harvesting timber. Dangerous conditions may exist. There will be on-going forest management and other commercial activities such log & rock hauling, timber felling, and application of fertilizer & herbicides by helicopter or ground spray. Permittee may not interfere with any forest management or commercial activities or with any easements or right-of-ways for any type of road, railroads, drainage structures or utilities or with any activities associated with oil, gas, mineral or other leases.

5. Permit term is August 1 to December 31 each year.

6. All vehicles operated on the property will carry insurance sufficient to satisfy the minimum insurance required by WA state law. Anyone driving on the leased property must have a valid state driver’s license.

7. Permittee shall not do anything that could cause a wildfire on the property. Permittee shall use its best efforts to suppress any fire that occurs on WY property during the term of the lease. No fireworks are allowed.

8. No camping is allowed at Vail.

9. Camping is allowed at Pe Ell with certain restrictions. All campsites shall be maintained in a neat and orderly manner at least 150’ away from the nearest water body. No permanent structures can be erected. Campfires may be built outside of fire season which generally runs April 15th to October 15th. Fires may not be left unattended and will be completely extinguished using water of foam before Permittee leaves the camp area.

10. Motorized traffic is limited to rocked roads only. No ATVs, motorcycles, ORVs or snowmobiles are allowed – not even in a trailer or the back of a pickup.

11. Weyerhaeuser reserves the right to restrict access to WY property if, in the sole judgment of Weyerhaeuser, weather conditions present an extreme fire hazard or other unsafe condition.

12. Permittee accepts WY property in its present “as is” condition. Permittee understands that there may be hidden hazards, including but limited to holes, fence wire, wild animals, wells, water bodies, harmful plants, equipment, and unauthorized persons on the Property, or other risks that may cause injury or death. Permittee assumes all these risks as its own responsibility, and agrees to hold Weyerhaeuser Company and its subsidiaries harmless from and against any and all claims of loss, damages, liabilities, personal injuries, or expenses (including but not limited to court costs and attorney’s fee) incurred as a result of any injury to or death of any person or persons or any damage to property in any way arising out of or connected with the Property, or in any way arising out of Permittee’s activities on the Property.

13. A Permit may be canceled by Weyerhaeuser if Permittee violates any terms of the permit. Notice of cancellation shall be in writing and sent by certified U.S. mail to the Permittee, and cancellation shall be effective on the seventh (7th) day from deposit in the U.S. mail. No refund will be given if the Permit is canceled for breach of any term of the permit.

14. General rules:

a) No rockhounding, gold panning, digging or taking of rock speciments
b) No removal of firewood or other forest products except berries and mushrooms for personal use
c) No target or skeet shooting
d) No alcohol or illegal drugs
e) Dogs are allowed on the leased area provided they are NOT used for hunting or tracking game.

But after reading further it states "A Permittee cannot assign, transfer, or otherwise convey their permit to another party."

Pretty certain you are stuck.

That would cover his wanting to "share" someones permit.  Selling it gives up your access and allows the buyer to take your place.

They are talking about the original permit sale - it is sold by Weyerhouser to "one person or legally-married spouses".  That basically means that a church group can't buy the permit and let everybody use it at once or in turn...

As timberstalker points out, it does explicitly say that you cannot transfer it, ie., no re-selling...

:yeah:   That's what I was about to post. Once you purchase the permit, it's yours. Cannot be transferred to anyone else.

Kinda sounds that way.  I guess you could contact Weyco if you felt like it, but sounds like what every one is saying is how it goes.
